    Rita Johnson-Greene is a seasoned healthcare executive who has a proven track record of building high-impact and collaborative organizations. She currently serves as the chief operating officer of the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine (ARM). Rita leads ARM's operations, finance, and global expansion initiatives to advance the development of engineered cell therapies and genetic medicines and promote access for all patients. Prior to ARM, Rita held leadership roles at bluebird bio and Spark Therapeutics, where she launched three of the first four gene therapies approved in the US. Rita also spent 10 years at AstraZeneca and has a background in finance, sales, commercial operations, and consulting. Rita is committed to her faith and social impact. She leads a weekly Bible study and mentors young aspiring scientists. She serves on the GirlTrek Board, a community nonprofit that actively contributes to initiatives addressing healthcare disparities and youth empowerment. Rita also serves on the Drexel University BIOMED Dean's Executive Advisory Council and as a guest lecturer for the bio-medical graduate students. Rita’s accolades, including Reuters Trailblazing Women in Pharma 2025, Drexel 100, Diversity MBA Magazine's Top 100 Women of Influence and Top 50 Under 50 Executives, and Working Mother Magazine's Working Mother of the Year, underscore her exemplary leadership and dedication to making a difference.
