Spirituality is a vital part of everyday life as it serves as the lens through which many individuals find purpose, foster relationships, and cultivate resilience. The interconnectedness between spirituality and wellness is well documented. Research has shown a correlation between spiritual practices and reduced rates of depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. As work is also central to daily life, greater effort is being made to understand the impact of the workplace on mental health. But how does spirituality impact one’s experience of the workplace? Should it be left at the door or be integrated to possibly enhance employee engagement, productivity and other positive outcomes. This session will explore key aspects of workplace spirituality and its relationship to mental wellness. The benefits and challenges of incorporating spirituality in the workplace will be examined. Lastly, key strategies to integrating spirituality in the workplace will be discussed.
