In the modern digital age, personal information and electronic data is the new oil. With the change in times, lawmakers are regulating collection and use of HR data in many ways. Also, employees know they have privacy rights to their personal information and expect compliance. This presentation will discuss a 360 view of privacy laws applicable to HR professionals in California. This will include a discussion of compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act, laws regulating use of AI in the HR context, privacy risks related to use of employee monitoring software and devices, digital wiretapping risks, and data breaches.
