Closing the Gap: Turning Disability Employment Policy Into Employer Practice
Decades of disability employment laws have established important rights and responsibilities, yet significant employment gaps remain. The challenge is no longer simply understanding what the law requires; it is building workplace systems that translate policy into sustainable employment outcomes. This session examines where implementation breaks down between legal requirements, HR strategy, and day-to-day management. Participants will explore how employers can move from compliance to operational practice by strengthening reasonable accommodation, talent acquisition, manager accountability, employee experience, and workforce infrastructure. Using disability employment as a case study, the session will demonstrate how HR leaders can build legally sound, workplace-unifying strategies that expand the talent pipeline, improve retention, reduce organizational risk, and create measurable business value.
Session Type: Breakout Session
